Seventh Grade Time Lapse Videos!

I was so happy I was able to teach one of my favorite things to my seventh graders before break! We started to experiment with time lapse videos, and will continue to make some more in the next couple days! Very happy with the outcomes so far!! Enjoy these videos

Sixth Grade mural process!

I am so happy with the work ethic of my sixth graders! they have worked so hard creating  these long murals of warm and cool colors! After adding the shapes with glue we then started adding tints and shades of the warm and cool colors to their murals. We finished these up the other day by adding some black paint pens to these murals outlining some details!

Seventh grade test prints!

Seventh grade is working on prints of buildings or skylines. I asked them to look up buildings around the world, and incorporate different architectural influences from different cultures! Then I had them watercolor a sheet of paper with warm colors on the top to represent sunset, and cool colors on the bottom half to represent water. I had them test print their block first, this way the student can tell what the print will look like, this gives the artist the opportunity to see if they want to change anything about their block before they print.

The test prints are looking great!!

Wrapping up our 6th grade murals!

we are wrapping up on our sixth grade collaborative community murals. These murals started out as long brown pieces of craft paper, now they are beautiful warm and cool colored pieces of art. The students were put into groups and were assigned a color family, they then had to work together to cover the long pieces with pre-cut (painstakingly by me :) ) pieces of construction paper in different colors. After the paper was covered a satisfactory amount we started adding tints and shades of their color family to the areas where the kids could see the brown paper. Here's two of the students staying after school with me today to keep painting! We were having so much fun they didn't want class trend! 😊
